This is going to be a SPOILER post.
If you haven't watch INCEPTION yet.

Just have to type my thoughts out in order to organise them.

the ending's really driving me crazy. LOL.
NEED a CONCLUSION.
AND SO,
i'm just going to post my thoughts about the ending here,
and well,
some of the questions i have about the movie. XDD

****SPOILER****

OKAY.
SO the biggest question is...

DID COBB WAKE UP? OR WAS HE STILL DREAMING?

Well,
of cos i'd like to think that he's in reality. HAHA. The happy-ending-is-best mentality of mine. But still, there's been a lot of opinions given by others who've watched the movie.

To me, the strongest point made by those who say that Cobb's still dreaming is that his children doesn't seemed to have aged. They were also wearing the exact same clothings and doing the exact same thing. So, it shows that Cobb's still stuck in his own subconciousness. This is by far the only point that i can't explain if i hold my position that Cobb's in reality when finally returned home.

However, I would like to think that he's back in the reality cos he finally saw the faces of his children. I'm not sure about this, but when i dreams, are they actually able to create new memories? 'Cos, if it's not possible, then Cobb must be back in reality to be able to see his children's faces once more right? Since he doesn't have any memories of how his children looked like...

As for spinning totem, it's really subjective. To me, maybe partially 'cos i HOPE that cobb's back in the reality, the spinning totem looked like it's going to topple eventually. Well, i can stretch a little further by saying that when Cobb spinned it in the dream world, it was spinning PERFECTLY. As in, a straight T. So, the little jerks that it seemed to have seems to imply that it's not a PERFECT spin. Thus, representative that it'll eventually topple unlike in the dream world.

There's really A LOT of ways that people can understand this ending as. I was reading through the Yahoo! Answers and there were A LOT of theories that people had about this. Some even suggested that the whole movie was a dream by Cobb, who was trapped in his own loop of sub-conciousness. This may sound ridiculous but thinking about it, it may not be THAT ridiculous afterall. Since the start of the movie was of Cobb being washed up on the shores in the limbo world. I'm not sure of what purpose the director had in mind to show that scene right from the start and to repeat it when nearing the end. One may think that it's a tactic used commonly in movies or even novels but something just feel off to me when it is THAT PARTICULAR SCENE used. Well, shall just brush that idea off my mind. HAHA! too complicated to think about. There's another idea which was brought up. and that is, the whole movie's about Cobb being under an inception to get over Mal's death. This sounds plausible too, but my mind's just too orientated to Cobb being the perpetrator instead of the perpetrated. LOL.

Well,
as i re-watched the movie last night, i found another question that has been bugging me since then. LOL. that is, why did SAITO aged SOO MUCH when Cobb still remained young? I mean, the limbo is a universal place where those who died while being too deeply in the dream world goes to right? So it means that Saito must have been somewhere in the same place where Ariadne and Cobb was when they were looking for Mal. Furthermore, Saito should have arrived there LATER than Ariadne and Cobb. Since he'd only died AFTER throwing the granite to protect Fischer's "corpse". So logically, Saito should have experienced the same time-flow as Cobb and Ariadne did. And also, think most of you noticed, although the shore that Cobb got washed up was similar to the one he and Ariadne got washed up to in limbo, the buildings were all gone when he found the old Saito. It was a new world that I assumed Saito has built in the time he spent in limbo.

SO,
I'm completely confused over the age difference between Saito and Cobb when Cobb finally found Saito in the limbo. LOL! One actually suggested that Cobb woke up to the first dream level, which is in the van underwater, and drowned. Hence, returning back to limbo. And in that few seconds that he woke up to be drowned, Saito aged considerably in limbo. Well, this explanation is plausible but it's pure imagination isn't it? HAHAHA.

Oh well, it's just complicated. HAHAHA!

Long isn't it? HAHAHA!
The fact that I'm actually here, typing such a LONG post thinking about the whole story of Inception shows that it's really an amazing movie.
LOL!
So many different ways to perceive a single ending.
It feels just like what a good book will do to it's readers. (:
Leaving the space of imagination there and let readers enjoy the process of thinking about it and justifying it with their own reasons.
HAHAHAHAHA.


AND WOW.
Think this is by far the MOST meaningful post i've ever written. LOL!

Majo Saiban

Finished watching Toma's drama "MAJO SAIBAN" yesterday.

haha! 've been on a drama-buying spree these days.
Bought MAOU too! HUR HUR. For collection sake. XD
think i'm going to start re-watching it soon.


ANYWAY,
back to MAJO SAIBAN.
It's called "THE WITCH TRIAL" in English.
and well,
as the title suggest,
it's a show about a "witch" at a trial,
for murder.
lol.
BUT. The title has another meaning,
which is about the NATURE of the Witch Trial.
OH WELL,
it's just kind of complicated.


BUT. this drama has one of the most IMPACTFUL ending i've ever watched.
haha. i was totally speechless when i saw the ending. LOL.
It's just, SUCH A SCARY TWIST.
and i got SOOO COMPLETELY tricked. -.-
well, just like TOMA in the show. HAHAHAHA.

Quite some mystery drama these days like to portray the criminals' inner self,
and how they are actually forced to commit the crime.
well, the most typical one that i can give example of would be SUSPECT X and errr...
MAOU maybe.
lol.
MAJO SAIBAN isn't really THAT DIFFERENT.
Just that this portrayal is used in a different way.
A way that......
ARGH. just thinking about how i got tricked makes me feel pretty irritated
=X HAHA.

AIYAH. i'm a BAD review writer.

it's a drama that's worthwhile to watch. LOL!
Of cos, having TOMA in it raised the "worthiness" by quite a bit.

in other words, they'll be crashing in a karaoke room when the guests pick Arashi's songs.
Songs that are on the top 5 list.
Only when the 5 songs have been picked and sung, will the project then be considered to be completed.
LOL! in any case, the whole project was just HILARIOUS. haha!

Hmmmm.
An interesting book.
Although i don't really think that it's as exciting as ANGELS & DEMONS.
BUT.
The content is really interesting. ^^
Talks about science & ancient mysteries.
How Science today is just trying to catch up with Ancient Wisdom.
There's quite a number of twists and revelations that will really WOW you.
haha!
But there's ONE PARTICULAR TWIST that really succeeded in making me go..
"OH GOSH! NOW THIS EXPLAINS EVERYTHING." XD

well,
not going to go in depth as to what the story is about.
haha! just going to say that it's pretty worthwhile to read it. =D

Kaibutsu is about this monster prince (ohno) who is about to inherit the throne.
BUT. because he's SOOOO spoiled and willful,
his dad decides to send him down to the mortal world for training.
HAHA. in a sense, is to make him more responsible and stuff like that...
he's followed by 3 assistants, a werewolf, vampire and frankenstein.
LOL. and his magical powers are restricted.
It's pretty much like a drama for kids....
HAHA. but it's just really entertaining. XDDDDDD

quite a busy week. HAHAHAHA.
but still went to play Hotel City out of boredom. LOL.
BUT. interest in it is WANING already. =S

but... hmmmm.. they're not as happening as KAT-TUN during the making.

Finished a book recently..
A book that took me quite some time. LOL.
It's titled "The Winner Stands Alone" by Paulo Coehlo (?) HAHAHA.
PSPSPS. cant seem to be able to remember his name.
anyway, he's most famous for his book called "The Alchemist".
HMMMMMMM. the book.... DARK.
LOL! sort of like critisizing the SUPERCLASS people.
those who are enslaved by money and glory.
in anycase...
i dun really understand what the whole book is trying to say,
but... it's pretty enlightening at times.
The whole story's set in the Festival of Cannes...
showing how people are being controlled by their desires.
The more people gets rich, the more they cant stop.
Even though they have plans to retire and relax...
they find that it's practically impossible.
cos they feel like they're indispensable in the world..
That's what i pretty much feel like is the main focus of the book.
HAHAHAHA.

The next book, will be Nora Robert's romance novel.

LOL. Trying out a new author. XD maybe i'll find it nice.

I bought Arashi's 1999-2009 collection album. XDDD
It's released during their 10th anniversary and records 32 songs in it.
HUR HUR. Quite a worthwhile album to buy...

hope that it arrives before i leave for taiwan. =P


Think maybe i'll start buying the singles that i want from people clearing their collection. +D

starting from matsujun:

Some secrets on Disneyland~
- everyday, one person is picked (randomly) to stay in the CINDERELLA CASTLE and it's a SUPER LUXURIOUS stay. LIKE A PRINCESS. HAHA. families and friends will also be invited. interesting huh. didnt know that it's possible to stay in that castle. HAHAHAHA. the castle was originally built for the Walt Disney family if they wanted to stay over. HEEEE.
- There's actually an UNDERGROUND tunnel throughout Disneyland... for STAFF use. XD
- Music can be heard throughout Disneyland. Yet... no speakers can be seen. Why? Cos they're all CAMOUFLAGED! LOL. As street lamps, bird houses, windows... etc.
- The flowers in Disneyland.... are always BLOOMING. NO single withered flowers can be spotted. Cos, they have HUNDREDS of garderners to take care of it! HAHAHAHA.

There's a lot more actually. but... gomen ne. pretty much only remembered these. HEEEE.

Next. Nino's! and his... is on the CONVENIENCE STORES IN JAPAN.
HAHAHA. Pretty interesting too! (:

- Flies are SUPER RARELY spotted in Japan's convenience stalls.. Even those that are attracted to light. Those flies, just seem to IGNORE the light coming from the convenience stores. WHY?
- COS... THEY CANT SEE THE LIGHT!!! O.O HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. cos those flies "see" the light sources through sensing UV rays emitted from the light source, eg, fluorescent tube. However, the tubes that Japanese convenience stores use are being slotted into a transparent tube called... Ban-guard (i think). HAHA. these tubes block out UV rays leaving only normal light waves. and Ta-da! it's FREE OF FLIES! HAHAHAHA.
- Another thing. Japanese convenience stores... have SUPER BRIGHT floor tiles. it's cleaned and waxed at a VERY regular frequency. As it has been shown that light provides people with a sense of comfort dark in the night.... So... the brighter the store front is... the more people they attract! HAHAHA. They even have a sensor which they put on the floor to check the light reflective level of the floor. HAHA! Amazing huh. XD
- And and and.... you guys all know about onigiri right? Japanese triangular rice balls wrapped with seaweed. Normally, people eat it cold. BUT. To people in OKINAWA, It's COMMON SENSE for them to HEAT UP THEIR ONIGIRI before eating them. HEEEE. Interesting ne... think i should try it out sometime too~~

What he researched on.... is really really INTERESTING.
LOL.
It is a not very well known technique... used by opticians to....
help people who are blind regain their eyesight.
And....
YOUR OWN TOOTH IS ESSENTIAL IN THIS TECHNIQUE. LOL.
well. apparently, they drill a hole through a tooth that they plucked out..
then, insert something like a... small glass tube through it?
well, cant really understand the physics behind it but...
they will insert this "combi" into the eye... and ta-da! eyesight regained!!
This technique has been successful so far in its cause. but it's still in experimental stage in Japan. So, it's actually FREE if you volunteer to go for it. HEEE. so far, there's no failure cases. XDDD OH. and the reason they use tooth... is cos, it's the only thing that's hard enough to drill and insert the tube, and the only "bone" that won't dissolve away in the eye. HEEEEE. Fascinating ain't it. +D

What he researched on.... is about bomb detonators? well, not really sure what you call them but err.
mainly that group of people will go detonate those bombs that didnt explode back when Japan was engaged in the WWII. In any case, it's a super dangerous job.
Some interesting facts about it....
- Those people appointed to detonate the bombs.... they're paid (duh...) BUT. It's actually paid through the HOURLY WAGE system! HAHAHAHA. They're paid according to the time they took to detonate the bomb. Normally, they'll take about an hour. And then, the RATE of the WAGE PER HOUR... is... 100yen/hr. Right now, the exchange rate b/w S$ and Yen is. S$1=~65yen. LOLOLOL. don't you think that its... a little... LITTLE?!?!?! LOL. when they put their lives on detonating the bombs..... Well, maybe they're paid a larger sum AFTER they manage to defuse it.... =X

HAHAHAHA. Kirin (a major drinks brand in Japan), held an event to promote one of their health drinks that YAMAPI is endorsing.

Using the pet bottles of that drink (Kirin Namacha), they created the world's LARGEST 3D MOSAIC ART.
AND AND AND.
That mosaic art... IS ACTUALLY YAMAPI's ADVERTISMENT PICTURE!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!
From what i read off the Kirin website, staff from the Guinness World Records will be going down to that place and take measurements of it. Making sure that it's really the world's largest. HAHAHA.

not really as excited as i thought i would be though.
HAHAHAHA. after so many years of exam..
getting used to the cycle. =X

think i actually watched more dramas during the exam period than i did normally.

watched The Quiz Show 2 and My Girl during the 2 weeks of exam. =X
hopeless huh.. me...
LOL. but well,
at least i enjoyed the show. HUR HUR!

The Quiz Show 2 is by Arashi's Sakurai Sho and Kanjani8's Yokoyama Yuu.
HAHAHA. realised that Yokoyama's pretty good at acting.
LOL. It's quite an exciting show. HAHA.
Pretty intense. Sort of similar to Liar Game i think.
even though the plots are very different.
But Sho's SOOOO shuai in it. HAHAHA!!!
the ultimate motive for watching the show. =X

My Girl's not the Korean My Girl.
HAHAHAHA. although i love both. =X
The latest My Girl that i watched is a Japanese drama. (of cos right~)
Anyway,
My Girl's main cast is Arashi's Aiba Masaki.
HAHAHA. His first drama as a lead role. not bad. LOL.
The story's about him, a 24 year old guy, having to take care of a 5 year old daughter who suddenly appeared in his life.
it's more like a "life" drama.
So not really exciting or intense.
BUT IT'S SUPER SUPER TOUCHING.
LOL. It's been a LONG time since i cried that much over a drama ler.
HAHA. think the last one was Moonlight Resonance. LOL.
Think i cried in almost all the episodes of My Girl. HAHA.
Cried until i had a headache for the rest of the day. LOL. pretty bad.
but hmph. it's nice! XD

Somehow realise that i've always been looking forward to those touching scenes in shows.
HAHAHA. especially those that'll make someone cry. =X
think it's feels more worthwhile when the drama is able to touch someone to that extent.
It actually feels good for me when i cry over a particular scene. HEEEEE.
kinda weird... but... that's ME! MUAHAHA.

Have been reading chinese romance novels these days too.
by a author named 绿痕.
I think it's a pretty long series. But i only started from the 5th book.
HAHA. not that they are really connected.
Just that there'll be recurring characters.
In anycase, i think that the author's a really good writer.

to be honest, out of the 3 books that i read,

Walker sensei talked about the remaining language mods that we can take next sem..
think i'll most prob continue with Japanese 5.
but Business Japanese sounds more practical huh...
just that i think i'll go crazy with the keigo. =.=

but it seems that almost half of the people are going to graduate this sem.
so means...
the Japanese 5 cohort is going to be like REALLY SMALL.

got back my literature review and the peer review today.
to be honest,
i'm TOTALLY shocked by the comments given for the lit review.
think Simon really graded it VERY LENIENTLY.
LOL. really thought that it was a piece of crap.
but well, still glad that it was good enough for him. HEEE.
no offense against high grades. =X

As for the peer review....
i haven't read through it.
LOL. feels kind of scary~~
I always had this problem of seeing what others wrote about my work.
somehow....
just not very comfortable with it.
think i just have a really low confidence in my work.
well, not that i can help it...
mostly last minute works.... =X

in any case,
shall take this chance to really train myself up to accept criticisms.

read the newspaper today.
had this pretty shocking news about Thailand.
The errr... red camp(?) who supports Thaksin did a SUPER EXTREME stunt.
Splashing of blood donated by volunteers. -.-
It was a pretty.... disgusting scene.

The first reaction i had was...
"HUH. So waste blood... Don't they know that the blood bank is running low?"
LOL. pretty... singaporean huh. XD
but i think it's kind of a too extreme thing to do ler.
Talking about what blood represents life and so they're giving them up in support of their leader.
They even got an indian priest to curse the blood or something. =.=
Pretty crazy in my opinion.

Think most people are going to shun Thailand even more now...
What a bad thing to do for the economy. LOL.

these days,
the things around me keep breaking.
i have ABSOLUTELY no idea why.
and it's all those things that NORMALLY do not break, break.


My necklace broke just this afternoon...
My spectacles broke just nicely into half...
EVEN MY BED FRAME BROKE.
just last night.


What a luck i'm having these days. HAHA.
it's not common to have so many HARD TO BREAK stuffs breaking consecutively.
oh well, i'm starting to think of it as having some sort of 挡灾 purposes.
HUR HUR.


anyway,
these days have been thinking quite a lot about Representations of War on films.
haha. it was a pretty interesting topic.
somehow during the tutorial we keep deviating from the main topic,
and went into a discussion of whether the Japanese were aggressors in WWII
gained quite a lot of new insights though.
till now then i realise that what we've been studying during secondary schools,
are actually kinda biased. LOL.
well, it was after all from the point of Singapore, who was a victim of WWII.
so hmmmm.... in any case,
it was pretty interesting. HAHA.
maybe i should go visit Hiroshima and the Yasukuni Shrine someday.. XD



The last lecture on popular culture in Japan was also pretty interesting.
LOL. although it was pretty... OPEN in a sense. haha.
Talked about "okama" or "onee" in the Japanese media.
Well, loosely translated would be transsexuals or cross-dressers.
Apparently there's this super famous program in Japan called the "oneeMANZ"
It a variety show whereby "Onee"s will be displaying their skills and teaching the audience how to do stuff like make up, ikebana and hair styling... i think.
It's really intriguing to see how they are so popular..
even though it was widely acknowledged that masculinity hegemony runs deep in the Japanese society.
things are sure changing fast...
hahaha.
and i'm really interested in the "soushoku-kei" in Japan nowadays.
HAHAHA. or in english terms, known as the grass eating males.
LOL. Japanese sure are able to come up with all these weird terms. XD

and so! i went happily to Plaza Sing, up the escalators to Times.
strolling in excitedly..
BUT. the book was no where to be found! DAMN IT.
i checked the web and it said that the book CAN BE FOUND in that STORE!
i asked the counter about it..
the lady went ALL AROUND the store searching for it.
then.. she came up with this INGENIOUS explanation.
"OH. SORRY. It's OUT OF STOCK."

RAWR. for some reason.
i felt really pissed off.
and it just sort of spoilt my whole mood.

Thereafter.. nothing seems to go well for me.
I reached sengkang.. went to popular.
and should i say that i expected it?
The book wasnt there either.
So, i just gave it up! THAT POPULAR seems to HAVE NOTHING that i ever wanted from it.

half wondering why i'm feeling so irritated.

i've finished a book titled "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.
It's a really really thick book..
haha! but it's a truly exciting book.
especially towards the end..
almost impossible to put it down. HAHA.
Lots of mysteries.. twists...
but somehow, i dont think that it's going to be very re-readable.
LOL!

OH YAH.
Dark Slayer's OUT!! it's the big big one i think.
i'm so going to buy it. HUR HUR.

i just went through a VERY SCARY test.
for my GEM module on Einstein's physics.
It was SCARY!!! KOWAII!!!
and so i see...
i'm still NOT suited to study physics.
i was like TOTALLY KILLED in the SIX calculation questions.
=.= and a dozen other questions about the theories..
RAWR!
The worst thing is....
It was an OPEN BOOK test, and we were able to discuss it online!!
...since it was an online test. HAHA.
I am SOOOOO SURE that if it was a closed book test and CANNOT discuss,
I'll be SOOOOO DEAD...

for me..
physics should just be for pure entertainment when reading about it.
all the queer discoveries..
i've THOROUGHLY learnt my LESSON now.
i shall NEVER touch PHYSICS again.
BUT.
I have another term to go before i complete this module! T.T

Oh Oh.
yesterday i went for a check up at KK again.
and things just seems to get increasingly complicated.
all of a sudden, stones are becoming more and more.
HAHA!
so now, besides my gall bladder that has stones....
even in my gall bladder DUCT. there's stones.
and ta-da.
the operation is getting more complicated because of it.
the doctor estimated the operation to last about 3-4 hrs.
that's LONG! isnt it?
and i'm going to have my operation on the 29th of OCT.
FAST! HAYAI desu ne!

but at least this time i get to CHOOSE the ward! HUR HUR!
Air-conditioned ones are a MUST!!!

thinking that i'm actually going to have to miss quite a number of classes.
hais. i'm already slack enough.
missing of lessons is going to kill my end of year exams. T.T

but.

I hope that this is going to be a SHORT post. HAHA.
(well, i always end up crapping longer and longer and longer...)

ANYWAY,
i finished another book of Cecelia Ahern again.
it's titled "Where the rainbow ends.."
Well, i have no idea how the title links to the story but.. hmmmm.
this time the book is a little special.
The whole story, is being told through notes, letters, emails, sms and etc between all the characters. Quite a new way of storytelling and it works. HAHA!
This book is quite a lot more funnier than the others but also...

makes people more pek chek than the others. HAHA! was feeling pretty bu nai fan at the speed which the story of going. Too much distractions in between and misunderstandings and blah...
Oh well, it's still a pretty easy read. HAHA.
(One in which i'm desperately in need right now..)


Uni life is starting to getting REALLY busy.
With assignments due-ing soon all of a sudden and tests coming up out of nowhere.
It may be just me not paying attention to the flow of time but...
really. things are getting cramped. and i don't really like that.


i had actually made up my mind to really work hard for uni.
BUT! (things ALWAYS have a BUT with me..) here i am slacking off at every opportunity i have.

Today was a PHYSICS day for me !
Had physics tutorial and lecture for today. HEES.

The tutorial was pretty awkward.
and i think that i really screwed the in-class assignment up.
Although it was really easy. -.-
Qualitative questions ALWAYS kill me.


Having said that, this particular GEM module is really interesting!
HAHA. The lectures. XD

So many new concepts were introduced today.
And my HUMAN brain can't really catch up with it. LOL.
The lecturer's like trying to throw whatever we have known into the dustbin.
Somehow it feels like we've been living in a world that's full of lies.
HAHAHAHA.

OKAY. that sentence wasn't SUPPOSED to have any EMO feelings okay.

LOL. Just that really, it changes the way you think about this world.
Everything's so NEW and WEIRD.

Well, i'll just try my best to not FAIL this module. HAHA.
